Breezy east to southeasterly winds lie over most of the country today, cloudy in the east with areas of drizzle or rain for most. Winds tend more west to southwest Waikato northwards.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy areas and the odd shower, especially afternoon and evening about the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty. Areas of sun about Northland and Auckland with a lesser risk of showers but they still may occur now and then. Breezy Sou’Westerly winds.
Highs: 16-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Rain with gusty southeasterly winds, the further west one goes areas of rain becoming more scattered and dry spells more frequent.
Highs: 14-16

Eastern North Island

Rain, heavy at times. Gisborne and northern Hawkes Bay may remain dry till evening. Breezy southeasterly winds, brisk about the Wairarapa.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington

Areas of rain with breezy southeasterly winds.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson

Cloudy with areas of rain, heavy in the morning. Drizzle at times too. Winds fairly gusty from the southeast.
Highs: 15-16

Canterbury

Areas of rain or drizzle, possibly heavy about North Canterbury. Southeasterly winds.
High: 13

West Coast

Plenty of high cloud with breezy southeasterly winds.
High: 16

Southland & Otago

Mostly cloudy with easterly winds, the odd light shower possible near the Otago coast.
Highs: 12-15
