High pressure brings generally settled weather today, some cloud though mainly for the east of the South Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Becoming mostly sunny in the morning, southerly winds tend easterly later. Northland sees any early showers clear then sunny areas increasing with southeasterly breezes.
Highs: 15-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly sunny with light winds, south to southeasterly winds pick up a little from afternoon.
Highs: 14-15

Eastern North Island

Chance of an early shower then sunny areas increase, winds from the south or southwest. Later in the evening a shower or two may work back into Gisborne.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington

Mostly sunny in the morning with light winds, a few clouds from afternoon as southerlies pick up then easing in the evening.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson

A mainly sunny day, south to southeasterly winds pick up in the afternoon then ease in the evening.
Highs: 15

Canterbury

Sunny in the morning, some cloud from mid to late morning as southerly winds pick up for a time.
High: 11

West Coast

Sunny with light winds.
High: 13

Southland & Otago

Chance of an early shower then morning cloud gradually breaks to sunny areas, clear skies by evening. Southwesterly winds ease.
Highs: 9-11
