Wednesday night’s national forecast

Two lows sit either side of the South Island overnight, eastern regions for the most part will be driest although some rain clears Canterbury and Marlborough this evening. Western parts of both islands see showers for most of the night. Southeasterlies about Southland and coastal Otago with periods of rain.

Auckland & Northland
Periods of cloud, the odd shower too some of which may be heavy especially towards dawn. Northwesterlies.
Tonight’s Lows: 11-13

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
Showers, some of which may be heavy then
easing this evening. The odd shower continues overnight. Northwesterlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-14

Eastern North Island

Mainly clear skies with some high cloud, light northwesterlies.
Tonight’s Low: 12

Western North Island

Showers ease this evening however the odd one continuing overnight,
northwesterlies.
Tonight’s Lows: 11-13

Wellington

Any remaining showers clear this evening, periods of cloud overnight.
Northerly winds.
Tonight’s Low: 12

Marlborough & Nelson

Any remaining showers clear this evening, skies the becoming clear.
Northwesterlies. Winds tend more westerly or southwest about Nelson
overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 6-8

Canterbury

Fairly cloudy skies with some rain passing through and clearing this
evening, clear spells overnight for most. Northerlies tend light west to
southwest overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 7-8

West Coast

Showers with northerly winds.
Tonight’s Low: 8

Coastal Otago

Cloudy with showers then overnight rain, southeasterlies.
Tonight’s Low: 8

Central Otago

Areas of rain clear later this evening, the odd shower remaining mainly in
the east. Light east to southeast winds.
Tonight’s Low: 4

Southland

Periods of rain with southeasterly winds.
Tonight’s Low: 8
