With thousands descending on Taupo this weekend to cycle around the Lake – could you give us your best interpretation of the weather – wind and potential rain for the weekend.

Many thanks

Hi Rob

Apologies for the late reply. This weekend in Taupo:

Cloudy on Saturday with northwesterly breezes becoming brisk in the afternoon (35 km/h), the odd drizzle patch or light shower possible at times. Late afternoon and early evening there is a greater chance of showers as winds tend more westerly. Remaining showers then clear by midnight. A high of 20 degrees.

Sunday: Morning cloudy areas, sunny spells breaking through by midday and continue through the afternoon. Westerly breezes (20 – 25 km/h). A high of 18-19 degrees.

Cheers
Aaron
