Weak highs and lows – The Big Picture on Wednesday

On Wednesday we have a weak high over the South Island and a weak low over the North Island.

The South Island is looking to have a mainly dry day, cloud may be thick however for many especially in the morning then gradually breaking away during the afternoon and evening.
Winds mostly light tending onshore in the afternoon.

For the North Island it’s a little complicated, fairly cloudy in the east (Gisborne to Wairarapa) with morning showers clearing, and southeasterly winds.

There’s some sun in the morning elsewhere, however cloud then increases in the afternoon and there may be a patchy shower or two form late afternoon or evening about the Bay of Plenty, Waikato and perhaps Auckland.
Fairly cloudy for Northland for much of the day, perhaps a shower or two mainly early morning, and then again late afternoon and into evening.
