Tuesday’s national forecast

A westerly airflow lies over New Zealand today so expect wet weather in the west and sunnier drier weather out east, skies in Canterbury may be fairly cloudy however. The far south of the South Island is also likely to recieve some rain for a time.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato, CNI & BOP
Westerly breezes with sunny and cloudy periods, the odd shower in the west. Bay Of Plenty will be mostly sunny with warmer temperatures, cooler about the Central North Island.

Eastern North Island
Sunny and warm with a little high cloud possible, northwest breezes after midday.
Highs: 23-24

Western North Island
Cloudy periods with breezy west to northwest winds, the odd shower now and then too.
High: 17-19

Wellington
Sunny with a few clouds, brisk north to northwest winds, chance of an overnight shower.
High: 17-18

Nelson
Sunny and cloudy periods, the odd shower spreading from the west in the afternoon and evening. Northwesterly breezes.
Highs: 18-19

Marlborough
Mostly sunny and warm with northwesterly breezes from midday, some late cloud with the chance of a shower spreading from the west at night.
Highs: 21-22

Canterbury
Cloudy periods with a few afternoon sunny spells, light winds tend southerly.
Highs: 17-18

West Coast
Periods of rain with northeasterly breezes
High: 16-17

Southland & Otago
Cloudy with periods of rain, dry spells too especially inland. Winds generally from the south.
Highs: 13-16
