A north to northeasterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, meanwhile a front moves in from the Tasman Sea crossing the South Island this evening then the North Island overnight.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy. The odd drizzle patch about the Bay Of Plenty from morning, elsewhere late evening or overnight. Rain pushes in from the west towards dawn on Wednesday. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Plenty of high cloud, the odd spot of rain possible otherwise mainly dry. Overnight rain moves in from the west. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 14-17

Eastern North Island

Sunny areas and thickening cloud, a few spots of rain overnight. Northerly winds.
Highs: 19

Wellington

Cloudy with a few spits of rain possible otherwise mainly dry, some rain moves in overnight. Breezy Northerly winds.
High: 16

Marlborough & Nelson

Cloudy with a few spots of rain overnight about Marlborough, northwesterly winds. Nelson sees patchy drizzle developing in the morning then rain at night, northerly winds increase.
Highs: 15-17

Canterbury

Thick high cloud with north to northeasterly winds, a few overnight spots of rain.
High: 16

West Coast

Cloudy with patchy drizzle, rain moves in later in the evening. Breezy northeasterly winds.

Thick high cloud, a few spots of rain late afternoon or evening. East to northeasterly winds.
