Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly cloudy about Northland and Auckland, morning cloud breaks to some afternoon sun further south. West to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 20-23

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Cloudy areas with some sun and westerly breezes, chance of the odd shower otherwise mainly dry. Overnight there is a greater risk of showers.
Highs: 20

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with a few clouds about, a few isolated showers late afternoon / evening about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne then clearing away. Showers could be heavy with a thunderstorm or two. Winds light in the morning then tending onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 22-24

Wellington

Mostly sunny with northeasterly winds, overnight showers as winds change southerly.
High: 20

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny with light winds tending northwest in the afternoon. An overnight southerly change brings a few showers, mainly to Marlborough.
Highs: 22-27

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with light winds, late afternoon or evening showers move in with a southerly change.
Highs: 23-24

West Coast

The odd shower then some afternoon rain as northwesterly winds change southwest, rain eases in the evening.
High: 17

Southland & Otago

Morning rain eases to showers about Southland, a sunny start for Otago then showers move in around midday. Brisk cool southwesterly winds move through the area.
Highs: 13-19
