Showers about the upper South Island and North Island will ease this evening and mostly clear overnight, a few remain along the east coast of the North Island however. Meanwhile a front builds south of the country with northwesterlies increasing about Southland overnight and rain moving into Fiordland.

Northland

Clear spells and some cloud, a few showers move through this evening then clear. Southwesterlies ease overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 11-13

Auckland

Periods of cloud with a few showers about, some heavy then clearing this evening. Southwesterlies ease overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 12

Bay Of Plenty

Clear with some cloud, any isolated showers in the west of the district
clearing this evening. Southwesterlies ease overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Waikato & Central North Island

Isolated showers possibly heavy, mainly in the west. Clearing this evening.
West to southwest winds ease.

Tonight’s Lows: 5-6

Eastern North Island

Showers about the Wairarapa, some heavy with thunderstorms and hail then
easing overnight. Cloud increasing about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne this evening
with a few showers moving in, southerlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Western North Island

Isolated showers, some heavy with possible thunderstorms and hail, clearing
this evening. Skies clear up overnight. Light winds for most although
southwesterlies about Taranaki ease overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-9

Wellington

Cloudy areas with the odd shower, clearing this evening. Light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Nelson

Cloudy areas and isolated showers, some heavy then clearing later this
evening. Light winds. Cloud breaks up a little overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 8

Marlborough

Isolated showers with a few heavy falls clearing tonight, cloud breaks up a
little overnight. Light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 6-7

Canterbury

Cloudy with the odd drizzle patch clearing this evening, light winds. Cloud
breaks up a little overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 6-7

West Coast

A few showers clearing this evening then expect clear spells and light
winds. Cloud increases later about South Westland with showers then rain moving
into Fiordland overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-10

Coastal Otago

Cloudy areas breaking away later this evening, high cloud then moves in
overnight. Light winds tend northerly after midnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-8

Central Otago

Mainly clear skies, some cloud in the east clearing this evening then
further cloud moving in overnight. Light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 4-5

Southland

Clear skies this evening, overnight northwesterlies and cloud increases
with showers towards dawn.

Tonight’s Low: 6
