Upper North Island

Any morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, southerly winds tending southwest this afternoon and freshening. Temperatures in the low twenties.

Lower North Island

In the west expect areas of cloud, risk of a shower also mainly this morning. Winds fresh from the south. Taranaki sees sunnier skies. Along the east coast expect mostly cloudy skies and a few showers, winds fresh from the southwest. Wellington sees a few showers, mainly this morning, fresh southerly winds.

Upper South Island

Morning cloud with the risk of a shower in the east then becoming mostly sunny, southerly winds. Nelson is mainly sunny with light winds tending northerly in the afternoon. Temperatures in the high teens or low twenties.

Lower South Island

Mostly sunny with easterlies in the east, west to southwest winds in the west. Temperatures in the low to mid twenties about Southland and inland areas, coastal Otago sees temperatures reaching into the high teens.
