A ridge lies over the country tonight bringing mainly settled weather, the odd shower remains about the east of the North Island however. High cloud approaches the far south of the South Island as a front moves into the southern Tasman Sea.

Mainly clear about Auckland with south to southeasterly winds easing overnight, temperatures becoming fairly cool. Showers about eastern Northland clear this evening then cloud breaking away to clear skies overnight.

Clear or becoming clear this evening, southeasterly winds ease overnight. Frosty for sheltered inland areas.
