Sunny and clear – with some exceptions: The Big Picture on Thursday

A west to northwesterly airflow lies over most of New Zealand on Thursday, while a ridge lies over Auckland and Northland, meaning some wet weather in the north.

It’s shaping up to be a mainly sunny day – especially in the east, with light winds from the east on some areas of the coast.
Some cloud sticks around at times in the west of both islands.

A few isolated showers are possible about Northland in the late afternoon and into evening, with the chance of a thunderstorm and downpour then clearing by evening.
