The narrow area of rain and showers on the eastern side of New Zealand slides a little further southwards today.
Wettest places will be the upper north eastern South Island, especially from around Kaikoura to Cook Strait.
Most other regions are mainly dry today but a few showers will extend around this area of rain into surrounding places.
Cloudiest weather is in the east of both islands from Otago to Gisborne.
Sunniest is in the south of the South Island and north of the North Island.
Windiest will be in coastal areas of central New Zealand especially around/near Cook Strait.
