Upper North Island

Mostly sunny for the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty with light easterlies. Further north expect periods of cloud with easterlies a little fresher, a few showers at times for eastern Coromandel, northern parts of Auckland and eastern Northland. Showers may be more intense for a time in the morning.

Lower North Island

Mainly sunny weather with light winds, some cloud and a shower or two may affect Gisborne northwards along the east coast.

Upper South Island

Mainly sunny weather with light winds after a frosty start.

Lower South Island

Mainly sunny weather with light winds, tending westerly about Southland.
