Upper North Island

Cloudy areas with breezy west to southwesterly winds, the odd shower possible at times too mainly about Northland and Auckland. Sunny areas more frequent during the day about the Bay Of Plenty.

Lower North Island

Areas of cloud in the west with west to northwest winds becoming brisk in the afternoon, chance of a light shower from afternoon also otherwise mainly dry. Moslty sunny about Wellington with gusty northwesterlies, sunny along the east coast also with west to northwest winds.

Upper South Island

Mostly cloudy in the west with the odd patchy shower from afternoon, west to northwest winds. Mostly sunny on the east coast and about Nelson with some high cloud possible, west to northwest winds build in the afternoon especially inland.

Lower South Island

Cloudy in the west with the odd patchy shower, rain from afternoon as west to northwest winds build then easing to showers in the evening. About Southland and Otago expect mainly dry weather with building northwesterly winds and high cloud, rain moves in during the afternoon then clears in the evening with a westerly change.
