A west to southwest airflow lies over New Zealand tonight. Showers in the west of both islands ease this evening, conditions are mainly dry out east.

Northland

Periods of cloud, the odd shower mainly in the west. West to northwest winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 13-16

Auckland

Showers with the odd heavy fall easing this evening. Showers may mostly clear but there could be one or two continue overnight. Westerlies.

Tonight’s Low: 16

Bay Of Plenty

Showers with a few heavy falls, clearing this evening. Westerly
winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 13-14

Waikato & Central North Island

Showers with the odd heavy fall easing this evening. Showers becoming
restricted to the far west of both districts by midnight. Northwesterlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-13

Eastern North Island

Mainly clear with some high cloud, a few showers spreading from the west
into northern Hawkes Bay and Gisborne this evening then clearing. Brisk
northwesterly winds ease overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Western North Island

Cloudy spells with periods of showers, they may be briefly heavy at times.
Brisk west to northwest winds ease a little overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Wellington

Showers this evening, possibly heavy then clearing overnight. Brisk to
strong northwesterlies ease a little after midnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Nelson

Showers, some heavy clearing this evening. Northerlies tend southwest
later.

Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

Marlborough

Clear spells and some cloud, chance of a brief shower this evening
spreading from the west then clearing. Northwesterly winds ease tonight.

Tonight’s Low: 9

Canterbury

Clear with some high cloud, light winds. Overnight southwesterlies may
develop with some cloud along the coast south of Banks Peninsula.

Tonight’s Lows: 9-10

West Coast

Showers with the occasional heavy fall, easing later this evening as
westerlies tend more southwest.

Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

Coastal Otago

Areas of cloud thicken this evening, showers later. Winds change southwest
overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Central Otago

Areas of high cloud with westerly winds, a few showers this evening about
southern and western parts of the district then clearing overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 8

Southland

Brisk westerlies with showers, showers ease overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 9
