its been a while since we’ve had a good thunderstorm. It kicked off by briefly knocking out power for a few seconds in the Papakura CBD and flash flooding on the streets. I had to move my car as it was inches from the door and well over ankle depth in the gutter. Right now, 45 minutes after it started, theres still flashes of lightning and the constant sound of thunder in the air – http://www.twitpic.com/zyjwm – The water when this was taken was up to the bottom of my rims! And it got deeper!!

wow, just looked at lightning tracker. Any chance we might see some of the action South head, Helensville way. Just a bit of rain would be good, real dry here now.
