Thought it was cold this morning? Well some centres, like Hamilton and Auckland, had their coldest morning so far for 2009.
Hamilton dropped to a staggering -4.3
Waitakere/West Auckland -1.3
Taupo -4
Waiouru -6
Rotorua -2
Christchurch -2.9
Timaru -2
“Variety” is the key word summing up NZ’s weather over the coming month, which means it may be quite similar…
Here’s what is making the weather headlines today. FRONT CLEARS AWAY THEN SETTLED A front moving over the North Island…
A front pushes off the North Island today moving away to the northeast and a high moves in in behind….
Several lows will impact NZ over the coming week or so, with more rain along eastern Australia but relief in…

We had 2 deg at 7am in Whangarei, stunning morning which has carried over into the afternoon, a very good crunchy frost on the ground. Great weather though.

What’s the coldest Auckland/Hamilton has ever got to? -4 must be close to a record for up there.

To my knowledge, I think Hamilton had around -9 back in the 1970’s. Can someone confirm this?

We had a ‘very thick’ frost this morning up in the Bay of Islands. All gone now and it’s a stunning day.
