A ridge of high pressure pushes in over the South Island today meanwhile a southeasterly airflow lies over the North Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud, light winds. Afternoon sea breezes for Northland and Auckland. There may be an isolated shower or two from afternoon, more likely evening onwards for Northland and Auckland.
Highs: 25-27

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Early showers then sunny areas increase, mostly sunny by midday. Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 20-25

Eastern North Island
Showers, clearing in the afternoon about Wairarapa and Hawkes Bay, there may be some sun later in the day. Gisborne could see early sun, showers develop late morning then clearing later in the evening. Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 20-22

Wellington
Becoming sunny in the morning, southeasterly winds.
High: 20

Marlborough & Nelson
Any early cloud clears then sunny. Easterlies for Marlborough, afternoon north to northeasterly winds for Nelson.
Highs: 20-22

Canterbury
Early cloud clears then mostly sunny, east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 19-21

West Coast
Sunny with southwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-24

Southland & Otago
Early showers clear Southland then expect a mix of sun and cloud, Otago has a mostly sunny day. West to southwesterly winds, tending northeast in the afternoon about coastal Otago.
Highs: 16-22
