A large anticyclone in the Tasman Sea drags a west to southwesterly airflow over New Zealand today, conditions are mainly settled although a front about the far south may bring a few spots of rain.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny with a touch of high cloud possible, southwesterly winds become breezy in the afternoon especially about Auckland.
Highs: 22-24

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any morning cloud clears then mostly sunny with some high cloud, light winds tend westerly in the afternoon. Southwesterlies freshen up a bit about coastal Taranaki in the afternoon.

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, afternoon easterly winds.
Highs: 20-23

Wellington
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, northerly winds.
High: 21

Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, light winds tend north to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 22-25

Canterbury
Sunny areas and some high cloud, east to northeasterly winds for most however winds are light about the foothills.
Highs: 22-25

West Coast
Sunny areas and some high cloud, the odd shower possible about southern Fiordland. West to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-23

Southland & Otago
High cloud with the odd spot of rain possible, west to northwesterly winds for most tending east to northeast about coastal Otago.
Highs: 19-25
