A north to northeasterly airflow lies over New Zealand today while a front lingers about the far south of the South Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny spells with a shower or two in the afternoon, any morning fog about the Waikato breaks away. The Bay Of Plenty has fairly cloudy skies with the odd drizzle patch or shower. Freshening northeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny, a chance of low cloud or fog about the Central North Island in the morning then breaking to a few sunny areas in the afternoon. Northerly winds for most.
Highs: 12-17

Eastern North Island
Sunny with northerly winds, tending northeast near the coast for some.
Highs: 15-17

Wellington
Sunny spells with breezy north to northwesterly winds.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny areas and some high cloud for Marlborough, mostly cloudy about Nelson. North to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-18

Canterbury
Plenty of high cloud with northerly winds.
High: 18

West Coast
Areas of rain or drizzle with breezy northeasterly winds, rain becoming heavy about Fiordland from evening.
Highs: 14-15

Southland & Otago
Morning scattered rain then drying out in the afternoon with some sun breaking through, north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-17
