An anticyclone brings settled weather to most of New Zealand today, south to southwesterly winds over the North Island gradually ease.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny with south to southwesterly winds, there may be some cloud about western coastlines.
Highs: 11-13

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloudy areas about the Manawatu may bring a shower or two, clearing by evening. Sunny spells further west. Cool southwesterlies die out in the evening.
Highs: 6-11

Eastern North Island
Cloudy areas with showers about the coastal fringes, easing during the day to clear by evening. Just inland conditions are drier with some sun possible now and then. Cold southwesterlies ease later in the day.
Highs: 10-11

Wellington
A few morning showers and snow flurries to 400m then afternoon sunny spells, gusty southerlies ease later in the day.
High: 9

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with light winds after a frosty start. There may be a coastal southerly breeze for Marlborough that eases during the day.
Highs: 10-11

Canterbury
Frosty to start, heavy inland then mainly sunny, any morning coastal cloud clears away. Light winds tending southwest near the coast, southwest winds die out in the afternoon.
High: 8

West Coast
Sunny with light winds.
High: 10

Southland & Otago
Mainly sunny, there may be a touch of high cloud at times. Heavy frosts morning and night especially inland. Light winds.
Highs: 5-9
