Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Showers, some may be heavy with thunderstorms and hail, easing mid to late afternoon and mostly clearing by evening although the odd one may still affect the western coastline. Sunny spells at times. Light winds at first then southwesterly winds becoming brisk.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Rain develops in the morning as a southwest change moves in, easing afternoon and clearing by evening. Taranaki may remain fairly dry during the day however with plenty of sunny spells.
High: 14-16
 
Eastern North Island
Showers about Wairarapa spread into Hawkes Bay and Gisborne in the afternoon with a cool southwest change. Expect some sun before the change moves through. Showers clear for most in the evening with winds easing overnight.

Wellington
Rain eases this afternoon and clears by evening, strong southerlies die out later in the evening.
High: 12
 
Marlborough & Nelson
Any early showers clear otherwise mainly sunny with southwesterlies dying out in the afternoon. Afternoon northerlies for Nelson.

Canterbury
Any morning cloud clears then mostly sunny with southwesterly winds dying out in the afternoon.
Highs: 15
 
West Coast
Sunny with light winds tending southwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 15-18
 
Southland & Otago
Cloudy periods about Southland with the chance of a shower or two otherwise mainly dry, Otago on the other hand is mostly sunny with just some coastal cloud at times. West to southwesterly winds for all.
Highs: 13-17
