Saturday’s national forecast

A low coming in off the Tasman continues to make its way toward the North Island this morning. This means we will see an increasing chance for precipiation for the north and east with rest of the island remaning dry.

Northland, Auckland, the Coromandel Peninsula and the Bay of Plenty could all see some light showers this morning and this afternoon. The chances are fairly small at this point.

Those chances go up tonight as the low gets closer. Northland, Auckland and the Coromandel Peninsula will see a pretty good chance for rain. Bay of Plenty and Gisborne will have small chances for rain.

The rest of the island should have a pretty cloudy Saturday with a few peeks of sun.

As far as the South Island goes, Southland and Otago will have a pretty good chance for seeing showers later today and tonight. The southern shore may see showers all day long.

The rest of the island should be dry, but rather cloudy.
