RainWatch – Friday 13th January

A front moves off the upper North Island this afternoon, a west to southwesterly airflow lies over most of the country in behind the front.

RainWatch is a series during the weekdays, giving a snapshot about where around New Zealand areas of precipitation may affect your day.

Morning rain or showers clear around midday about most of the upper North Island, Northland however doesn’t see showers develop till late morning then clearing late afternoon / evening.

Chance spot of rain this morning for Hawkes Bay and Gisborne then mainly dry.

Showers along the West Coast of the South Island clear around midday.

Showers for Southland, easing from afternoon and clearing in the evening. Otago sees the odd shower from morning although picking up around midday as southwesterlies freshen, showers then clear Otago in the evening.
