RainWatch

There is very little rain to talk about today.  A few showers have been trying to make it across the top of the North Island.  A few showers have also affected the Gisborne area this morning.  Otherwise, that is it for the precipitation.

As we go through this afternoon, more widespread showers may develop for the upper North Island.  Northland has the best chance for seeing late afternoon showers with Auckland and the Coromandel Peninsula running a lesser chance.  A few showers are possible for the western Mainland as well.

Tomorrow, a broad westerly will set up for the western Mainland.  That will help widespread showers develop by afternoon.  In addition, a Southern Ocean front will moving toward the lower South Island.  That will be the focus for more shower activity tomorrow night.  Some brief heavy falls will be possible late tomorrow night along the West Coast.

Showers will also be possible about mainly coastal sections of the lower North Island late tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night.
