Northern New Zealand has had a fair bit of sub-tropical weather this year with Auckland seeing some fantastic cloud formations as a result of the heat + humidity.

Despite it being April, and well into Autumn, the north of New Zealand still feels like summer most days – especially this past weekend.

This photo, taken on Saturday, shows a combination of sun and rain, heat and humidity.

“Looking south east from Beach Haven” wrote Dan Oades, who took the photo “I spotted this large cloud slowly moving along the horizon. I used a polarising filter and added some contrast in post”.
