Monday’s weather outlook

A large anticyclone covers New Zealand again on Monday much like it has today, this will result in a mainly settled day.

For the whole North Island, expect mostly sunny weather, some cloud may be a little more frequent for the upper North Island during the day. Some low cloud possible first thing for inland areas then breaking. Late afternoon / evening cloud builds a little about some inland areas and this may result in an isolated shower or two. Winds will be light then expect afternoon sea breezes. Afternoon high’s in the low to mid twenties for most although some coastal parts may only get into the high teens.

A mainly sunny day for the South Island in store, just a few scraps of high cloud during the day. Winds are light in the morning then expect afternoon onshore winds, the east to northeast breeze about coastal Canterbury may feel a little fresh in the afternoon but it should still be a great day. Afternoon temperatures similar to the North Island, ranging from the low to mid twenties for most, some coastal parts may only see temperatures in the high teens.
