Monday’s weather outlook

A series of fronts and low pressure weakens over New Zealand on Monday especially for the North Island.

Early showers about Northland ease then expect a mix of sun and cloud, there could still be a remaining isolated shower or two for the rest of the day otherwise mainly dry. Auckland sees a mix of sun and cloud with light winds. Early rain about Bay Of Plenty, Waikato, Taranaki and down through to Wellington eases to the odd shower which mostly clears in the evening. Expect rain or showers along the east coast, rain may be heavy at times for Gisborne / East Cape.

Rain about Nelson and Marlborough eases to showers by midday, mostly clearing in the evening. Mostly cloudy for Canterbury, a few light showers also mainly Banks Peninsula northwards. Parts of South Canterbury may even see some sun at times. For the rest of the South Island conditions are mostly sunny after any morning fog patches break away, some cloud may bring a shower or two for Buller at times otherwise that’s it.
