A ridge of high pressure brings in some settled weather today however it doesn’t last very long as another front lines up in the Tasman Sea, moving onto the South Island overnight.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Any morning cloud / showers clear about Northland and Auckland then mainly sunny, southwesterly winds tend northerly in the evening. Sunny all day about the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty.
Highs: 14-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any morning cloud clears then sunny with light winds.
Highs: 10-13

Eastern North Island
Any morning showers clear then sunny areas increase, cool southwesterly winds die out this evening.
Highs: 12-14

Wellington
Any early showers clear, becoming sunny during the morning. Southerlies tend northerly later in the afternoon.
High: 11

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with some high cloud this evening, north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 11-13

Canterbury
Sunny with some high cloud later in the day, northeasterly winds increase from midday.
Highs: 10-11

West Coast
Mostly sunny with high cloud gradually increasing, cloud thickening and lowering about South Westland in the evening then late rain moves in. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-13

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny after a frosty start, some increasing high cloud, overnight spots of rain. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 9-11
