Monday’s national forecast

A northeasterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, fairly cloudy for the upper North Island with the odd shower about mainly afternoon on wards. A few showers sneak further southwards in the evening and overnight. For the South Island it’s a dry day, expect breezy ENE winds in the east this afternoon after morning cloud breaks to some sun.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly cloudy with East to Nor’East winds, chance of a few patchy showers about more so from afternoon. One or two may be heavy about Northland this afternoon.
Highs: 21-24

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly sunny this morning then cloud increases from midday with a few showers moving into Taranaki and the Central North Island this afternoon, not reaching further south into the likes of Manawatu till later this evening or overnight. Light winds.
Highs: 21-25

Eastern North Island

Sunny areas with some cloud especially morning and evening, northeasterly winds.
Highs: 21-22

Wellington

Mostly sunny with light northerly winds, some patchy rain overnight.
High: 21

Marlborough & Nelson

Mainly sunny weather with northerly winds this afternoon.
High: 20-25

Canterbury

Morning cloud breaks to afternoon sunny areas, east to northeast winds becoming breezy about coastal areas this afternoon.
Highs: 18-22

West Coast

Mainly sunny weather with a touch of high cloud, light winds.
Highs: 18-24

Southland & Otago

A mainly sunny day with light winds, morning cloud breaks away for coastal Otago. Afternoon sea breezes for coastal areas.
Highs: 18-24
