An east to northeasterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, many regions could see isolated showers this afternoon and evening especially about the upper South Island northwards. One or two showers could turn heavy with thunderstorms also.
Bay Of Plenty
remaining fairly cloudy with patchy drizzle later this evening. East to
northeast winds.
Waikato & Central North Island
this afternoon / evening one or two of which may be heavy with thunderstorms.
East to northeast winds.
Eastern North Island
few showers about the coast this morning any of which clear away, then late
afternoon / evening isolated showers develop about the ranges of Wairarapa one
or two of which may be heavy with thunderstorms. Cloud thickens later in the
evening.
Western North Island
especially this afternoon / evening, one or two may be heavy with
thunderstorms.
Wellington
afternoon where one or two could be heavy with thunderstorms.
Marlborough & Nelson
in the afternoon. Isolated showers possible late afternoon / evening especially
inland. East to northeast winds.
Canterbury
northeast winds. Late afternoon / evening isolated showers are possible mainly
inland Mid Canterbury northwards, showers may become heavy especially about
North Canterbury.
West Coast
showers late afternoon / evening especially about Buller where they may be heavy
and thundery.
Coastal Otago
Southland & Central Otago
afternoon. Isolated showers possible late afternoon / evening for inland
areas.
