A breezy east to southeasterly airflow lies over the North Island today, a few showers along the east coast and Auckland northwards. The South Island is dry, gusty ENE winds for the east coast this afternoon.

Northland

Occasional showers, more persistent in the east this afternoon / evening. Easterlies freshen from this morning tending southeast later on.

Highs: 16-17

Auckland

Cloudy periods and the odd shower, mainly in the north then gradually
clearing away this afternoon. Breezy easterlies.

High: 16

Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy areas (especially high cloud), some sun possible at times. Breezy
southeasterlies.

High: 17

Waikato & Central North Island

Areas of cloud, mainly high cloud with breezy southeasterly winds. Sunny
spells will be about also.

Highs: 14-18

Eastern North Island

Mostly cloudy with east to southeast winds, mainly dry about the Wairarapa.
The odd shower for Hawkes Bay clearing this morning although the odd one could
hang around till evening, Gisborne sees the odd shower for much of the
day.

Highs: 13-14

Taranaki

Morning cloud clears to mostly sunny weather, gusty southeasterlies
ease.

Highs: 17-18

Western North Island

Sunny with easterly winds.

High: 15

Wellington

Sunny with southeasterlies tending easterly this afternoon.

High: 14

Nelson

Sunny with light winds.

High: 15

Marlborough

Any early cloud clears to sunny weather, easterly winds.

High: 14

Canterbury

Sunny with gusty east to northeast winds developing near the coast today,
winds may be strong at times. Inland areas see lighter northerlies. Later in the
evening northwesterlies freshen about inland South and perhaps Mid
Canterbury.

Highs: 13-15

West Coast

Sunny with light winds, some cloud develops from afternoon about South
Westland as northwesterlies build.

Highs: 14-15

Coastal Otago

Sunny with northeasterlies, fresh this afternoon.

Highs: 14-15

Central Otago

Sunny with light winds at first, afternoon west to northwest winds. Some
late high cloud.

Highs: 16-17

Southland

Sunny with northerly winds, some late high cloud then a few overnight
showers.

Highs: 17-18
