Monday night’s national forecast

A cold south to southwest airflow lies over the country once again tonight. Where skies are clear and winds drop out especially about inland areas of the South Island conditions are expected to be frosty.

Northland, Auckland
Cloudy spells with the odd shower, especially in the west. Southwest breezes.
Lows tonight: 9-10

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
Mainly clear skies about the Bay Of Plenty, some cloud for the other districts especially in the west of the regions where there may even be the odd brief shower. Light west to southwest winds.
Lows tonight: 2-6

Eastern North Island
Clear skies tonight with winds becoming light.
Lows tonight: 2-3

Wellington & Western North Island
Mainly clear skies about Wellington with light southerlies. Clear for the Western North Island also however north of about Wanganui some cloud may start to creep in, the odd shower at times for Taranaki. Westerlies.
Low tonight: 6-7

Marlborough & Nelson
Clear skies tonight. Light winds and frosty.
Lows tonight: -3-0

Canterbury
Clear skies tonight with calm conditions. Frosty, especially inland.
Lows tonight: -4-0

West Coast
Mainly clear. Some cloud possible especially north of Greymouth where there may even be the odd shower. Light winds tend southwest.
Lows tonight: 3-4

Southland & Otago
A few showers at times about Southland. Some scattered cloud elsewhere, frosty about inland Central Otago. Expect west to southwest winds.
Low tonight: -4-6
