Mainly settled and sunny for the North Island today, northwesterlies build further south ahead of a front which moves onto the lower South Island early this afternoon.

Mainly sunny weather for the North Island today after any morning cloud clears, chance of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening about Northland.

Mainly sunny in the east and north of the South Island after any cloud clears early this morning, some rain pushes into South Westland this morning then gradually moves northwards during the day reaching North Westland overnight.

Further mainly sunny and settled weather continues for the North Island on Friday, just some cloud about Kapiti. Areas of rain or showers for the West Coast of the South Island, rain becoming heavy about Fiordland from afternoon. Out east it’s warmer and drier with some high cloud.
