A ridge of high pressure moves in today bringing in some settled weather, however a few showers are still to clear mainly in the east. A northwesterly airflow develops on Friday, still fairly settled although showers start to affect western regions.

Morning showers clear most parts of New Zealand today however a shower or two may linger about the Manawatu and Wairarapa through till evening. There is the risk of a light shower or two at times during the day from Northland and down along the western side of the North Island however the majority of the time it is looking to be dry.

Mostly sunny for the North Island on Friday however from late afternoon or evening a few showers start to moves into western regions. The West Coast of the South Island has showers for much of the day, especially South Westland. Drier out east with high cloud, a low risk of a spot of rain at times spreading from the west.
