An anticyclone brings mainly settled conditions on Saturday for most of New Zealand, an easterly quarter airflow around the top of this high brings a few showers to Coromandel and Northland however. A ridge hangs over the North Island on Sunday with northerlies developing for the South Island.

Mostly sunny for much of the North Island on Saturday, an easterly quarter airflow brings a few showers for northern parts of Auckland and Northland however. Also about Hawkes Bay in the morning then perhaps Gisborne through till evening. The South Island has a mainly sunny and settled day.

Another mainly settled day on Sunday, a light shower or two could affect far eastern extremities from Great Barrier Island through to eastern Northland otherwise mainly dry. Mainly settled for the South Island however expect some cloud in the west with the odd light shower or drizzle patch about Fiordland.
