Our last long weekend until late October is upon us – and the weather is a typical autumn mixture of cold and sunny plus wetter, warmer and windier.

Wettest areas will be the Far North and western areas.

Driest will be the east, especially of the North Island, while windiest will be central and eastern areas.

Most places have both sun and rain or showers this weekend – and next week looks even wetter and more unsettled.
