An anticyclone brings mainly settled weather to New Zealand today, mainly settled doesn’t always mean cloud free though, more details in the forecast below.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud with light easterly quarter winds, areas of low cloud or fog possible morning and night especially about inland areas. There may be an isolated shower or two about some eastern coastal fringes i.e. eastern Northland, Great Barrier Island, eastern Coromandel, coastal Bay Of Plenty.
Highs: 16-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloudy areas with light north to northwesterly winds, sun may be more frequent about inland areas / the Manawatu.
Highs: 14-17

Eastern North Island
Sunny, there may be some morning low cloud or fog about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne then breaking away. Light winds.
Highs: 15-19

Wellington
Cloudy areas with north to northwesterly winds increasing from afternoon.
High: 15-16

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny, light winds.
Highs: 16-17

Canterbury
Any morning fog or low cloud clears then sunny, light northeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-16

West Coast
A mix of mid and high level cloud, light winds. Fiordland sees cloudy skies and the odd patchy shower.
Highs: 12-14

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny with some developing high cloud, northwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-16
