The flow tends northeast today with a warm front bringing rain to the South Island, heavy falls possible in the west.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Any morning low cloud or fog breaks to sunny areas and high cloud, there could be a light morning shower or two about the Bay Of Plenty. Light northeasterly winds.
Highs: 24-27

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloudy periods, more frequent sunny areas from afternoon. Light winds.
Highs: 22-25

Eastern North Island
Morning cloud breaks to sunny areas, chance of an isolated shower about Wairarapa late afternoon / evening otherwise mainly dry. East to northeast winds.
Highs: 23-26

Wellington
Cloudy areas with north to northwesterly winds increasing from afternoon.
High: 21-22

Marlborough & Nelson
A morning shower or two possible then sunny areas increase from afternoon, light winds tend north to northwest by midday.
Highs: 22-26

Canterbury
Morning rain then the odd shower or drizzle patch, east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-19

West Coast
Rain with heavy falls at times, southern Fiordland has a dry day. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 18-20

Southland & Otago
A chance of early fog about Southland then becoming mostly sunny, a similar story for Otago then cloud thickens from afternoon and expect evening rain or showers. Light winds, tending onshore in the afternoon about coastal areas.
Highs: 17-22
