A north west flow covers much of New Zealand today – although many areas are cloudy as rain clouds from the Tasman Sea move closer.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly cloudy with the odd shower about and drizzle patch, long dry periods too. Breezy north to north west winds a little gusty later.
Highs: 17-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly cloudy with the odd shower about and drizzle patch, long dry periods too. Rain develops later today. North to north west winds becoming stronger.
Highs: 17-20

Eastern North Island
Cloudy at times with nor’west winds becoming gusty for some. Mainly dry but a few spits possible.
Highs: 17 to 23

Wellington
Cloudy with north to north west winds rising to gale force at times. A few showers possible later.
High: 16

Marlborough & Nelson
Cloudy with north to north west winds rising to gale force at times. A few showers possible later.
Highs: 16 – 22

Canterbury
Cloudy at times with a few spots of rain possible, otherwise dry and warm with gusty nor’westers, turning SW later.

West Coast
Nor’westers and rain at times.

Southland & Otago
