An Auckland apartment block has been evacuated because of a nearby scrub fire.
A Fire Service spokeswoman said the fire appeared to be “endangering” the building on Rossmay Terrace in Mt Eden.
It was reported about 2.20pm, soon after the announcement of a fire ban for the Auckland region.
The spokeswoman said three trucks were sent to the fire, which is near railway tracks but not affecting trains.
