A cool start to a spring day – The Big Picture on Tuesday

A west to southwesterly airflow lies  over the country on Tuesday, meaning most in the east of both islands can expect cool and clear conditions.

In the west, skies are a bit cloudier.
Overall it’s shaping up to be a dry day around the country, but there may be a shower or two across the day from Taranaki northwards in the west.
There’s also the slim chance for scattered showers in coastal Southland, and perhaps the Catlins area too.

Meanwhile a high sits to the North of the country passing slowly from west to east.
