If you have any questions about functionality of our website(s) or app, trying to locate maps or data, or have a simple comment/feedback - please post a comment below!

As of 2024 we will no longer be publishing questions related to weather forecasts if they are answered via our hyper-local hourly & 10 day forecasts, weather maps and regular daily and monthly weather & climate videos.

We’re a small NZ business with limited resources to respond to general weather questions. Our social media pages may be helpful to you, especially if you want to often talk (or groan!) about your local weather. You can find more resources from us here if that’s your thing.

Thanks for your support!

Don’t forget to check out our RuralWeather.co.nz website (great for event planning or attending + camping!) and also, our brand new Weather Alerting App!

Predicted weather for Dunsandel November 2025 and beginning of December 2025

Jetfan on 23/08/2025 3:41am

I expect that there will be some sunshine, with the odd rainy day here and there. Expect some nor’westers at some point. That’s about as specific as anyone will be able to be from three months away, because this is a weather forecasting site and not your local spirit medium.

WeatherObserver on 19/08/2025 8:20am

What are the reasons for the weather maps looking messier than usual now? (I.e. powerful highs, deep lows, shallow lows, unusually-shaped lows, ‘improperly’ shaped highs, etc.). We already know that the reason for the wide variety of weather systems from subtropical lows to deep Southern Ocean storms is that we get this due to the NEUTRAL ENSO phase + slight La Niña indications; is this the only reason or it’s something to do with the ‘normal’ messy winter weather pattern?

WW Forecast Team on 20/08/2025 12:45am

Hi there, this is basically quite normal around August/September to see some of our messiest weather systems. High pressure is usually at its most powerful, as too is the polar air to our south – now throw in longer sunshine hours on top of it all and it’s a chaotic mess. Around October to November NZ often gets more into a traditional westerly flow with a bit more uniform pattern to the chaos (although every year is unique).

Good morning Weather Watch. Tell me, is it possible to see the ‘by date’, 24hr minimum and maximum temps in Auckland over the past 30 days or so? I sure would be interested please.

WW Forecast Team on 14/08/2025 9:25pm

Hi Philip, we’d love to be able to do that but sadly in New Zealand the Government has allowed both public weather agencies (Niwa and MetService) to convert historical data into a commercial product. So unlike Australia, Canada, USA, UK etc – where historical data is ‘freely open and available” for anyone/everyone to use, in NZ those two Government Agencies won’t allow us to freely share that information – you’ll need to go to MetService or Niwa to get that data. In other nations it would be freely found across dozens of public and private websites/apps for the good of the public. Very sorry we can’t help!

Okay, understood, but that’s crazy, though. Every man, woman, and child is affected daily by the temperatures they experience around them. To not be able to ‘freely and openly’ access what can be regarded as recent, everyday information is nonsense. I’ll get myself my own thermometer and notepad…cheers.

Richard Hooper on 19/08/2025 12:07am

Hi Philip, Yes it is frustrating. Try https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap and on the map legend click the radio bar for temperature/wind. it will show some personal weather stations…zoom in to the region you want and more personal weather stations will pop up. Nowadays these weather stations are just as accurate as the Met official ones. Click on the personal weather station and up pops more detail and its history. If it looks strange (rare) move to the next nearest one…enjoy.
PS Weatherwatch is a great weather site, thank you to Phil and his team

Richard on 25/08/2025 5:26am

But aren’t they public funded?
