Wednesday night’s national forecast

A ridge brings mainly settled weather for the North Island tonight, areas of cloud still persist, mainly about Northland and the east coast of the North Island. For the South Island a northwesterly airflow develops bringing cloudy skies and rain overnight in the west, dry out east.

Clear spells with some cloud, cloud mainly in the east with the odd shower possible. Easterly winds.

Auckland

Mainly clear skies although there may be some cloud in the north, light
winds.

Bay Of Plenty

Mainly clear skies, light winds.
Tonight’s Low: 7

Waikato & Central North Island

Clear areas, some have cloudy spells. Areas of cloud breaking overnight.
Light winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 0-3

Eastern North Island

Clear skies about the Wairarapa, cloud about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne breaks
overnight. Light winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 3-5

Western North Island

Clear spells with light winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 5-7

Wellington

Mainly clear skies, some cloud builds overnight. Northerlies.
Tonight’s Low: 9

Nelson

Mainly clear skies, light winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 6-7

Marlborough

Clear skies, light winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 3-4

Canterbury

Mainly clear skies, light winds inland. Northeasterlies near the coast ease
this evening.

West Coast

Cloudy with northerly winds, patchy drizzle later this evening then rain
overnight.

Mainly clear skies this evening however some high cloud increases
overnight, light winds.

High cloud thickening, light northerlies.
