Southwesterlies lies over the country again tonight, becoming cold in inland areas once winds drop out this evening. A few showers affecting some coastal regions, for more details check out the forecasts below.

Northland
Periods of cloud with occasional showers, especially in the west. Long dry areas developing overnight. Southwesterly winds.

Some cloud with southwesterly winds, the odd shower about too

Bay Of Plenty

Mainly clear skies with light southwesterlies.
Tonight’s Low: 4

Waikato & Central North Island

Clear spells and a few clouds, there may be an isolated shower or two about
this evening then clearing (mainly Waikato). Light southwesterlies.
Tonight’s Lows: 2-4

Eastern North Island

Mainly clear skies with light winds. Some cloud about the Wairarapa may
bring a few showers which clear this evening, low risk of a shower moving into
Hawkes Bay overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 3-4

Taranaki

Mainly clear skies with a few clouds about, southwesterly winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 5-7

Western North Island

Mainly clear skies with light winds, some cloud at times.
Tonight’s Low: 3

Wellington

Clear spells with light southerlies dying out this evening, isolated
showers inland about the ranges clearing away. Skies becoming clear
overnight.
Tonight’s Low: 5

Nelson

Mainly clear skies with southwesterlies becoming light this evening.
Tonight’s Low: 2

Marlborough

Mainly clear skies with light winds, some cloud about southern Marlborough
clears overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: -1-0

Canterbury

Clear skies with light winds, some remaining cloud about North Canterbury
clears this evening.
Tonight’s Lows: -2- -1

West Coast

Clear spells about South Westland. Some cloud further north with occasional
showers, easing overnight. South to southwesterly winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 2-4

Coastal Otago

Clear spells with westerly winds, a brisk southwest change overnight brings
a few showers.
Tonight’s Low: 6

Central Otago
Mainly clear skies
with light winds, southwesterlies freshen overnight with some cloud and a few
showers. Showers more about southern parts of the region with snow flurries
possible to 600m by dawn in the south.

Tonight’s Lows: 1-2

Southland

Cloudy areas with brisk westerlies and the chance of a shower, winds tend
more southwest overnight with a more sustained period of showers. Some snow to
500m by dawn tomorrow.
Tonight’s Low: 6
