Upper North Island

Mostly cloudy with breezy easterlies, strong at times
Auckland northwards. Showers about Northland becoming heavy this afternoon, torrential falls possible mainly in the east then easing later this evening. About Auckland expect patchy showers for much of the day, showers more persistent in the north with dry spells in the south. In the evening some rain develops about Auckland, once again rain may be more persistent in the north with heavy falls
even possible. The Waikato and western Bay Of Plenty sees the odd light shower
during the day, later in the evening or overnight some rain moves in to most
parts of the Waikato / Bay Of Plenty, heavy falls possible overnight about the
Bay Of Plenty.

Lower North Island

Areas of high cloud in the west and about Wellington, mostly cloudy along the east coast with the odd light
shower. Winds breezy from the east for all regions.

Upper South Island

Sunny areas and some high cloud in the west, cloudy periods out
east with the chance of some drizzle morning and night. East to northeast
winds.

Lower South Island

Sunny in the west, about Southland and Central Otago with light winds. A few areas of cloud morning and night along the east coast, mostly sunny by day with northeasterly winds.
