Slippery conditions for the NRL Grand Final

The NRL Grand Final is set to be played under slippery conditions on Sunday, with wet weather expected for the majority of the day.

Showers are going to increase across the Sydney region during Saturday afternoon and evening, with heavier rain possible on Sunday morning as a low pressure system forms near the NSW coast.

10-20mm of rain is currently expected over ANZ Stadium in the 24 hours prior to the game, ensuring slippery conditions for kick off at 5:20pm Sydney time.

There are some indications that shower activity will decrease in frequency at ANZ Stadium during the afternoon, which is of some consolation for fans attending the game. That being said, wet weather gear will still be essential.

Warm clothing will also be a wise option, with the temperature slipping back below 15 degrees during the evening as the game is played. A brisk southerly wind averaging around 30-40km/h will also make it feel a degree or two cooler.
