Sharing our love of weather on Valentines Day

Sunshine shone on more than half of the nation which matched the mood of the day however it wasn’t all sunshine and lollipops according to our readers.

“Windy and rainy in Invercargill. However not as bad as it was this morning. Although that can change very quickly!” said Amanda.

The Far North didn’t see a great deal either.”Very hot in Dargaville-had a tiny shower this morn-didnt wet the concrete-but by the time the sun & wind up-has done more damage than good to the ground!”commented Tina.
Simone also said it was more of a tease than anything” Had a couple of much needed showers of rain this morning in Paparoa (North Kaipara). Now back to sun, wind & 27.7 degrees.”

Gaynor didn’t mention where she was from but had a comment and a question” We got clouds in the sky, so a bit overcast, nice breeze and warmish, would really love to know what u got in store my way on saturday, as we have a wedding to attend?? please”.
If you’re in Auckland Gaynor Saturday looks dry with sunny areas and just a few clouds. Highs should be in the low to mid twenties. Enjoy the day 🙂

There was sunshine over eastern parts of the North island and it was obviously feirce in Gisborne but the love was flowing from Vera.”totally HOT as HOT in Gisborne today. Slight breeze just enough to come through the window to cool me down. “Happy Valentines”.

Donna up north was happy with the day…” Blue skies, windy, hot with the odd whisp of cloud shuddering across the expansive blue sky Waihi Beach – Bay of Plenty”.

Cantabs were also glowing in their reports..”Stunning sunny day in Chch, gentle breeze and not hot (for a change)…perfect day!” and Helen commented”Blues skies and 25degs here in inland mid-Canterbury (near Sheffield) – gorgeous day”.

Temperatures remained in the twenties over the entire North island and northeast of the Mainland.
The high of 27 degrees was shared by a number of centres and the national low of 15 was in Haast with Invercargill one degree warmer on 16 degrees.
