Rainwatch – Wednesday 26th December 2018

An anticyclone in the Tasman Sea and a departing low pressure system to the east directs a southwesterly airflow over New Zealand today.

North Island
Chance of a shower or two about the lower western North Island at times today otherwise mainly dry. The east coast has cloudy areas and the odd shower, more so about Wairarapa and Hawkes Bay and then Gisborne more from afternoon. Gisborne may still see a shower or two this morning, just less of a chance.

South Island
Canterbury through to Marlborough sees the odd shower or drizzle patch at times, Marlborough may be mainly dry this morning however. There may be a shower at times also about Southland.
